Deniece Cornejo Clarifies Kissing Video With Cedric Lee Means NothingDeniece Cornejo, the model who is accusing TV host Vhong Navarro of raping her, said that the CCTV footage of businessman Cedric Lee kissing her inside the elevator means nothing.
She said the kissing has no malice, and that she and Cedric are just friends. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) released a series of CCTV footages hours after Deniece filed a blotter report against Vhong. In the video footages, Cedric was seen kissing both sides of Deniece's neck.
Cedric is the alleged mastermind of the mauling of Vhong. His sister, Bernice Lee, is also part of the group who allegedly mauled the TV host.
According to Deniece, the footage shown was just her thanking Cedric and the group for helping her with Vhong. Cedric earlier said in an interview that he and Deniece are just friends. He also said he's already married.
On the other hand, Deniece already cried foul over the criticisms she has been receiving because of the CCTV footages. "Enough for too much below the belt black propaganda. Time to protect my family."
In her post on photo sharing network Instagram, Deniece said she decided to speak about the matter because she would like to educate the public who are trying to undermine her character.
"Victim blaming is a very common practice throughout the world. Victim blaming is one of the main reasons that women do not want to report rape."
The model said it's not right for people to judge her because they don't know what really happened. She pinpointed sexy star Ellen Adarna, who voiced her concerns against Deniece. Ellen and Deniece were friends.
In an interview with "TV Patrol," Ellen said Deniece should be the one to tell Vhong in the first place that he cannot touch her in certain places. She said Deniece should have stopped the TV host the moment she felt that he exceeded his boundaries.
She also explained her side regarding rumors that she bought a laptop with a video editing software days after the incident. The public has been criticizing her regarding such purchase because it coincided with her asking the guards at her condo building for a copy of the CCTV recordings.
Deniece said she bought the laptop because she wanted to research about rape and abuses against women. She would rather use a new laptop to research about it than use the one she works on.
Atty. Raymond Fortun, Cedric's former spokesman, earlier said that Deniece intended to use the laptop for her modeling career.
Fortun eventually resigned as Cedric's spokesman because Cedric and his group apparently violated their agreement that they should not speak about the matter publicly.
