Julia Barretto Doesn't Mind Comparisons With Her Aunt ClaudineJulia Barretto is already expecting that there will be comparisons to her aunt, Claudine Barretto. She said though that it's not fair to compare them since Claudine has been with the industry for more than 30 years.
Julia will be launched as ABS-CBN's newest face through the teleserye "Mirabella." She will play two characters there, just like Claudine when she played two roles in "Marina" and "Mula Sa Puso."
"You can't compare somebody who's been in the industry for many years to somebody who has just entered. So hindi talaga mako-compare 'yon."
In the teaser of "Mirabella," Julia was seen as a young lady with marks on her face and then as another young beautiful lady with flawless skin. Julia said she's very nervous about the teleserye.
She's also excited though since this will be her first starring role. Everything is new to her, she added, saying that every taping day is a learning experience for her.
"I'm allowing myself to improve. I'm giving myself time. It's my launching teleserye."
The most challenging part for her was playing two roles since she needs to let the viewers see the differences in the roles she's playing.
Meanwhile, Julia shrugged off the negative comments from bashers and haters. She believed it cannot be helped if some of them don't like her as the lead star for "Mirabella."
Julia stated that there is also a group of netizens who believe she's a good choice for the role.
This cyberbullying can also help her play her "Mira" role since it will prepare her for the criticisms. Mira, she said, will be criticized because of her appearance.
As for her real-life bashers, Julia said she does not get affected anymore because they are only trying to pull her down through their comments.
"I think it's better that you give attention to those na sumusuporta sa iyo. I want to inspire teenagers to handle it well, to fight for yourself and stand up for yourself. Huwag mo silang bigyan ng power to let you feel that way."
