Julia Barretto Cries On ‘Aquino And Abunda Tonight’Julia Barretto could not hold it all in in an interview with Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda on Monday.
Reacting to a question posed by Aquino, the young actress, who has been the subject of criticisms partly because of her just carrying the Barretto surname, showed that she too is human.
Aquino asked Barretto about being criticized for being “maarte”.
“Kasi ano eh… Why are we doing this now?” she said before she took a moment to try to rein in her emotions.
It took a nudge from the hosts to get Barretto to continue. When she did, she said that it’s not easy to have people judging you even though they really do not know you.
“That's not easy to deal with also at 17,” she said.
The young actress went on to say that one cannot possibly explain their side to everyone. Furthermore, she also said that one should also not explain to everyone because “they don’t all deserve to be given an explanation.”
“But, you know what, I’m being me,” she added.
Aquino may have been inspired to ask Barretto what she thinks about being called “maarte” after her visit to Vice Ganda’s Gandang Gabi Vice. After trending on Twitter, some people were tweeting how “maarte” the actress seemed in her interaction with the comedian and Enrique Gil, her co-star in “Mirabella”.
Meanwhile, the young actress said that she honestly thinks that it is better to be yourself and be different.
“That’s what’s going to set you apart from everybody,” she said.
She said that the least she wants to be is be “like everybody else”.
The young actress was quoted in earlier interviews saying that she is hurt by criticisms thrown at her.
She reminded people that she is also a person who gets hurt. She also said that she realizes that she is just a neophyte in the entertainment industry who will learn a lot more. “Sana mabigyan ako ng tao ng time,” she said.
