Roxanne Cabañero Loses Job Because Of Rape ComplaintRoxanne Cabañero has lost her job because of her current rape case against actor Vhong Navarro.
The revelation was made by Cabañero herself in an interview.
When asked, the former beauty pageant contestant told Ginger Conejero that she is not working at the moment.
“I lost my job because of this case,” she said.
Nonetheless, Cabañero did state that she was not fired from her job.
Previously, she worked as a paralegal and freelance research analyst before all the controversy surrounding her and Navarro exploded.
Cabañero filed a rape complaint at the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office in February alleging Navarro of raping her in 2010 while she was a contestant in the Miss Bikini Philippines beauty pageant.
The former pageant contestant said that after making headlines because of her case, the company she was working for opted not to renew her contract.
“It's just that nag-end na 'yung contract ko and I tried to renew it and then they said na... I cannot comment anymore, sorry,” she said, according to ABS-CBN News.
Nevertheless, Cabañero said that she will fight this fight against Navarro. “I am very confident about this case, kasi sinasabi ko ‘yung totoo,” she maintained.
Furthermore, she said she does not regret taking Navarro to court because she is fighting for herself and her rights.
“Na-rape ako. At masakit,” she said, adding that what she is going through at the moment is hard.
This latest revelation follows a lawsuit recently filed by Slimmers World International against Cabañero. The organizer of the pageant Cabañero entered is seeking P1.6 million from her for what they claim is the unnecessary mention of Cabañero of the pageant and of the company.
Cabañero has recently commented that this case by Slimmers World is a form of harassment.
Furthermore, this new bit has been revealed by Cabañero after her case, along with a perjury countersuit filed by Navarro, was transferred to the Department of Justice.
Cabañero’s lawyer, Atty. Virgilio Batalla, has commented that they find something odd with the way their case against Navarro has been handled. He was quoted by several recent reports saying that there may be an attempt by the Navarro camp to manipulate the cases they have.
