Accused In Vhong Navarro Case Posts BailSajed "Jed" Fernandez Abuhijleh posted bail even before the warrant of arrest was served for him regarding the grave coercion case filed against him by actor-TV host Vhong Navarro.
Jed was one of the cohorts in the alleged mauling of Vhong inside model-stylist Deniece Cornejo's condo unit in Taguig City last January 17. Vhong alleged that Deniece, Jed, businessman Cedric Lee, his sister Bernice Lee, Jose Paolo "JP" Calma, Simeon "Zimmer" Raz Jr. and Ferdinand Guerrero were the ones who mauled him and attempted to extort money from him.
Jed, a 39-year-old businessman, was also identified as "Mike." Vhong repeatedly said a certain "Mike" was one of those who attacked him.
Deniece, Cedric and the other accused did not go to the court to post bail. The warrant of arrest was issued for the grave coercion case filed against them.
Another case, serious illegal detention, was still underway, but this will be a non-bailable offense. The court has yet to issue a warrant of arrest for it.
Taguig MTC has already pushed on for the hearing of the serious illegal detention case, but the legal counsels of both camps have not released a statement yet.
The court has apparently stopped the legal counsels to release statements regarding the case. In a separate interview, the court's Assistant State Prosecutor Marie Elvira Herrera said the case has already been submitted for resolution.
Herrera is one of the members of the panel who heads the cases filed by Vhong against Deniece, Cedric and their group.
