Accused In Vhong Navarro Case May Switch Sides And Become A WitnessOne of the people accused in the mauling case involving actor Vhong Navarro may be switching sides and turning against co-accused Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo and company.
That is according to Tony Calvento who has been following the case since day one.
According to the print journalist and broadcaster, one of the people involved in the case is thinking of turning into a state witness. How does Calvento know this? He says that he has met with a person connected to this suspect and that they have discussed the suspect turning against Lee and company.
Furthermore, Calvento has said that Department of Justice Secretary Leila De Lima has given the “green light” for Calvento to speak with this person who, according to him, promised the surrender of the suspect after Holy Week.
And it seems the testimony will have a very substantial impact on the cases against Lee, Cornejo and the other suspects.
Calvento writes on his Facebook page that the things this person will say are “explosive”. The things revealed by the person connected to this possible witness includes where and when the group planned how to set up Navarro, he said.
This contact, he revealed, also made him talk to the possible witness.
“He even made me talk to the suspect on the phone and this person with a deep voice kept on crying and asked me to help him. He asked me to help give him protection,” Calvento wrote.
Why would this person want protection? Who is he scared of? According to Calvento, the suspect is “very scared of Cedric Lee”. Because of this, Calvento told the suspect that De Lima can assign agents of the National Bureau of Investigation to protext him.
Meanwhile, the journalist also revealed that during his conversation with the suspect, he was told the identity of the John Doe who brought duct tape and who went with Zimmer Raz and Bernice Lee as seen in the CCTV footage from the Forbeswoods Heights Condominium Building at the Bonifacio Global City.
Furthermore, he said that the suspect also told him that if all things go well, another suspect who has managed to flee from the Philippines is willing to return and also testify against Lee and the others.
Nonetheless, Calvento warned the suspect that he has already forwarded the details of their conversation to De Lima and that she and her staff are looking into these details.
“I just don't want people twisting the truth and turning the tables on me later on,” Calvento said.
Furthermore, he warned the suspect about not going through with the testimony.
“If the NBI and the PNP don't get to you then the people whom you will squeal on will do so,” he said, adding that by elimination, Lee and the others already know who this suspect is.
“You have very little time to make your move. CCTV's are all over the place you mentioned and this vital breakthrough on the case will bolster the Serious Illegal Detention case Vhong had filed,” Calvento said.
