Marikina Prosecutor Finds Probable Cause To Charge Raymart Santiago With Physical AbuseThe Marikina City Prosecutor's Office has released its resolution regarding the cases filed by actress Claudine Barretto against her estranged husband, Raymart Santiago.
The prosecutor's office said there's "probable cause" to file physical abuse charges against the actor.
Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Claudine's legal counsel, said the resolution has been signed on April 25, but was released on April 27. Raymart is now facing two counts of physical abuse under RA 9262 or the Violence Against Women and Children.
Raymart, on the other hand, has not commented on this issue since his camp has not received a copy of the resolution yet. The cases were filed on August 29, 2013.
Claudine said in her affidavit: "My life with Rozelle Raymond Martin Santiago [Raymart's real name] was a vicious cycle of violence, abuse, battery, and exploitation."
If Raymart is found guilty, he will be facing jail time and a bail bond of P100,000 to P300,000. He will also undergo "mandatory psychological counseling or psychiatric treatment."
Claudine and Raymart have been estranged since early last year. Raymart has left their marital home too.
