Manilyn Reynes Signs Exclusive Contract With GMA-7Manilyn Reynes finally signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 after choosing between the Kapuso network and the Kapamilya network.
It was an easy decision for Manilyn, who started on GMA-7. She said the two networks offered for her, with ABS-CBN offering even during the "Got To Believe" days.
"Got To Believe" is the top-rating teleserye that starred Manilyn along today's teen stars, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
Manilyn said it would be easy to just choose the network with the higher offer, but she wanted to go with what her heart was telling her. And GMA-7 is the right fit for her.
If she traced all the projects she did before, it will all be under GMA-7. So, she and husband Aljon Jimenez (who now stands as her manager) said it was an easy decision for them.
Manilyn first starred in the soap opera "Annaliza" and then, in "That's Entertainment." "Alam ninyo, GMA has been taking care of me kahit noon pa, in fairness talaga."
Manilyn decided to transfer the management of her career to husband Aljon because now that she has an exclusive contract, the network would be taking care of her. She said that all is well between her and her former manager, Olive de Jesus.
They told Olive of their decision, and she was accepting of it, the singer-actress said.
Since Aljon is now her manager, will he be getting commission? "Actually, 'eto nga, e, sabi niya, 'Honey, I will not be getting anything kasi ganun-ganyan.' And sabi niya, ‘I’m doing this kasi ikaw naman ito, e.’ 'Di ba?"
Manilyn would have wanted to give Aljon his commission since he will be the one to fix her schedule and talk to people about her. But Aljon said that whatever she will be earning will also be for their family.
Other stars are also asking Aljon to represent them like Isabel Granada. Aljon agreed, but he told Manilyn that it doesn't matter if they pay him or not.
"Now, sabi ni Aljon sa akin, ‘If they would have something for me, okay lang, pero alam mo, okay lang din na hindi.’ Kasi iyon na nga, e, kaibigan naman, at parang ihe-help mo na rin, 'di ba? Na kung pupuwede, bakit hindi, 'di ba?"
She was insistent that Aljon should also receive something from representing her, but her husband doesn't want to mix business with their personal life.
He believes it will only affect their relationship if they will talk about money and business all the time.
