Valerie Concepcion Admits Having A Non-Showbiz BoyfriendValerie Concepcion admitted that she is currently dating a non-showbiz guy, and he was the one who persuaded her to finish her studies.
The sexy actress broke up with basketball player Dondon Hontiveros two years ago. She revealed earlier that she is dating a medical student.
Finally, after one-and-a-half years of dating, Valerie said she felt she's ready to commit. They have been in a committed relationship for four months.
In that time that they were dating, Valerie said she wasn't ready to commit after a four-year relationship with Dondon.
"Tapos siyempre, dahil ang tagal ninyo, nandun yung naglalaban yung loob mo kung mahal mo pa ba o hindi na. Pero sa lahat ng mga pinagdaanan ko sa panahon na yun, nandun siya, e. Hindi niya ako iniwan."
She was very honest to her current boyfriend that she wasn't ready to commit yet, but he waited and Valerie is appreciative of that.
Besides, she was also quite impressed by her boyfriend because he let her be pursued and courted by other guys even though they were already dating. He let her explore her options.
"And yun nga, in fairness naman, at the end of the day, siya naman talaga yung natirang matibay."
Valerie shared that her nine-year-old daughter Heather Fiona is very close to her boyfriend. She calls him "Tito." They were really like friends, the actress said.
In fact, during Father's Day, her boyfriend was joking Fiona to greet her father, and Fiona pointed to him, asking if she will greet him Happy Father's Day too.
"Yung comfortable si Fiona na sumama sa kanya, na kahit silang dalawa lang yung mag-mall, ganun."
Valerie's boyfriend will be taking up the medical board exam this year. He wants to be an anaesthesiologist.
The actress said she has her fears, too, once her boyfriend becomes busy with his residency. During his clerkship and internship, he had time to go on dates with Valerie.
However, he explained to her that when he takes up his specialization, he will only have one week of leave per year. Valerie said she wants to be ready for that because she hasn't experienced him being that busy.
"Tapos iniisip mo, wala kang kilala dun sa ospital, wala kang koneksiyon, hindi mo alam kung nambababae or ano!"
That's why Valerie doesn't want to think that this guy will be her future since they haven't gone through that much together.
For now, Valerie is not focused on settling down. Maybe in the next two to three years, she added.
The actress wants to finish her studies before finally settling down. She is now 26 years old and in her first year of college taking up marketing in AMA.
"Well, kasi gusto kong maging parang ma-proud sa akin yung anak ko. Di ba, kumbaga, may pangarap, may goal sa buhay, so gusto kong maging inspiration kay Fiona."
Her boyfriend also pushed her to finish her studies. She also doesn't want to embarrass him because for sure, all his friends have finished college.
"Ayoko na mamaliitin ako, even the family. Iba pa rin siyempre yung nakapag-aral ka."
