Raymart Santiago And Claudine Barretto Amiable After Court HearingEstranged couple Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto had to face each other in court last June 20 for the consolidated cases of the custody battle and habeas corpus.
The trial happened before Judge Geraldine Fiel-Macaraig of Branch 192 of Marikina Regional Trial Court.
Raymart arrived first with his brother Rowell and sister Rhea. His legal counsel, Atty. Ruth Castelo, was also with them
Claudine then arrived with her father Miguel, sister Mitchie and Atty. Ferdie Topacio.
Claudine didn't answer the questions being thrown at her by the media. Atty. Topacio said his client was just tensed because of the situation.
After the prayer, everyone was asked to leave the room, except for Claudine and Raymart. According to Atty. Topacio, this phase is called the Judicial Dispute Resolution.
The resolution happened for two hours. There was just a momentary break when either Raymart or Claudine had to use the comfort rom.
After the hearing, the two went out of the room. Raymart answered some questions from the press. When he saw Claudine walking, he smiled at her and Claudine smiled back at her estranged husband.
Raymart, however, said he cannot divulge anything because of a gag order from the court. Even Claudine's sister, Mitchie, smiled at Raymart. Miguel was stone-faced.
Claudine also refused to answer questions from the media. Atty. Topacio just said they had to follow the court order.
Asked what happened inside the room, Raymart said it would be better if he just keep it to himself for now. Atty. Castelo said Raymart seems to be happy with the result.
"Ayoko nang idetalye, Mas maganda yung lumabas kang nakangiti kesa yung nakasimangot, 'di ba? Ang maganda niyan, pareho kaming nakangiti."
Raymart believes anything can be fixed with a prayer. Asked if his prayers were granted, he said "oo naman." But the actor maintained that it will take a long time to heal their issues since they went through so much.
Their cases have been going on for a year, and he is just happy that there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. "Umpisa pa naman, 'di ba, sabi ko wala namang panalo dito sa amin, pareho kaming talo. Dahil minsan nabuo ang pamilya na nawasak."
Raymart shared that their adopted daughter, Sabina, will celebrate her birthday on June 22. But they might hold a party next week. Hopefully, he can be part of this celebration.
Meanwhile, the actor refused to comment on Rosanna Roces' statements against him on Claudine's Facebook account. Rosanna called him "pandak," "unano" and "gaymart."
She also said that Ratsky, a former bar by Randy Santiago, was a drug den in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Raymart was surprised that Rosanna and Claudine are friends now. "Hayaan mo na sila, siguro hindi naman bobo ang mga tao. Siguro alam naman nila kung sino ang nasa tamang pag-iisip."
"Hindi ko na lang masyado dinidibdib ang mga naririnig ko. Puwede naman nilang sabihin kung ano ang gusto nilang sabihin, e."
The important thing for him is how the court will decide on their cases.
Atty. Ruth, on the other hand, said the family talked about Rosanna's comments but they decided to just shrug it off. They see it as a "fan" bashing her idol's estranged husband.
