Angelica Panganiban Stands As Godmother To Melai Cantiveros' Baby

Angelica Panganiban, who once had a rift with couple Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, was one of the godparents of their baby, Amelia Lucille, on July 5 at the St. John Bosco Parish in Makati City.

Melai's and Jason's family and friends were all there. Melai said in an interview on "The Buzz" that they are both happy that their friends and family were able to attend the baptism.

Melai said she constantly texts Angelica and asked her to come to the baptism. Angelica always told her that she'll be there "rain or shine." This was the first time the couple and the former child actress saw each other after their misunderstanding because of Angelica's comments about their wedding and Melai's pregnancy.

Jason said they forgot about that issue already, and it's normal for friendship to have some conflicts. He is sure there's nothing that can truly separate true friends such as Melai and Angelica.

The important thing is they are all happy and Jason is even thankful to Angelica. Melai said that was a non-issue already since they settled it before the wedding.

They proved to themselves that they are true friends. "Showbiz or without showbiz, we are true friends talaga."

For her part, Angelica said she is happy and proud to be a godparent to their baby. She said they already settled their issue

Melai and Jason had 20 godmothers and 15 godfathers for their baby. Aside from Angelica, other godparents were Eddie Garcia, Kaye Abad and Sam Pinto.

Melai said they are honored that Eddie was there to celebrate with them. Although they weren't able to attend the baptism, part of the list of godparents were Daniel Padilla, Ryan Bang, Tom Rodriguez, Alex Gonzaga, Kathryn Bernardo and Laurenti Dyogi.
