KC Concepcion Surprised By Her FAMAS Best Actress AwardKC Concepcion still cannot believe that her name was called for the 62nd FAMAS Best Actress Award last July 13 at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino.
She won for her role in the movie, "Boy Golden." Those she beat for the award were Angel Locsin, Toni Gonzaga and Bea Alonzo (Four Sisters And A Wedding); Kathryn Bernardo (Pagpag); Kim Chiu (Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?"); Sarah Geronimo (It Takes A Man And A Woman); Julia Montes (A Moment In Time); Marian Rivera (Kung Fu Divas); and Lorna Tolentino (Burgos).
KC shared that she was there as a host and she never thought that she was going to win that night. Gerald Anderson, the presenter of the Best Actress category, was the one who called her name.
She didn't want to assume that she will win, so she was not prepared for anything at all. It was such a big thing for her as she only sees these trophies because of her mother, Sharon Cuneta.
She can truly say now that the trophy is hers, and that she worked hard for her.
Her role in "Golden Boy" was daring, so is KC willing to do those kinds of roles now? It just so happened that the kind of role was given to her, but she is still willing to pursue these characters that are colorful and layered.
"Parang nakakakain ka ng masarap na pagkain kapag nagagampanan mo nang tama yung role."
KC will soon be a part of the primetime series "Ikaw Lamang," a production by Dreamscape and ABS-CBN. It currently stars Coco Martin and Kim Chiu.
Meanwhile, Piolo was also at the FAMAS awards night. He received the Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award. What can KC say about this? "Congratulations."
It is highly possible KC and Piolo did not see each other during the awards show because the actor immediately left with his son, Inigo, while KC was preparing for her next cue on stage.
