Aljur Abrenica Wants To Terminate Contract With GMA-7Aljur Abrenica is asking GMA-7 to release him from his contract, which was due to end in 2017, because he believes he wasn’t being taken care of as an actor and his career has not been progressing the way he wants.
Aljur went to the Quezon City Hall of Justice to file a Judicial Confirmation of Rescission of Contract against the Kapuso network. He was with his legal counsel, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio.
The actor said he doesn’t want things to end this way, but he had no choice because the network hasn’t been listening to his demand to terminate the contract. He also wants to maintain a good relationship with them because he owes the network a lot. He also cannot forget how GMA-7 gave him his big break in showbiz.
Aljur said he has thought of this decision for years, and he wanted to fix the issue before. But with guidance from his parents and other people around him, the actor decided to file a formal complaint against the network.
He clarified that there are no offers for him from other networks, and he knows the consequences of his actions today. What he is doing now will be worth it though because as an actor and as a musician, he wants to do many things for himself and his career.
“At sa akin pong nakikita, 'di na po nag-aakma, nagtutugma ang direksiyon na gusto nila para sa akin at direksiyon na gusto kong puntahan para sa career ko.” Atty. Topacio said they are not fighting with GMA-7 over this. Instead, they want to have a fruitful dialogue with the network.
According to a source of PEP.PH, Aljur lost his endorsement of Bench clothing brand because of a mistake from GMA Artist Center, the talent arm of the Kapuso network. The source added that Aljur is not happy that he is made to sing naughty songs and he is being sexually violated in all of his soaps and teleseryes since all he is made to do are daring scenes.
GMA Network, on the other hand, said in a statement that it has yet to receive a copy of the complaint filed by Aljur. Once a copy was received, the management will make an appropriate response.
Aljur is a product of GMA-7’s “Starstruck Season 4.” He was named the Ultimate Hunk back in 2007. His last soap was “Kambal Sirena” with Louise Delos Reyes this June 2014. His other teleseryes were: “Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan” (2007), “Dyesebel” (2008), “Luna Mystica” (2008), “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?” (2009), “All My Life” (2009), “The Last Prince” (2010), and “Ilumina” (2010).
In 2011, he was chosen for the remake of “Machete.” This was followed by “Amaya” (2011), “Coffee Prince” (2012), “Indio” (2013), and “Prinsesa Ng Buhay Ko” (2013). Aljur also had a self-titled album in 2010 under GMA Records.
