Ryan Agoncillo Will Not Host “Talentadong Pinoy”Kapuso actor-TV host Ryan Agoncillo will no longer host TV5’s “Talentadong Pinoy” despite being at its helm for years. Ryan said that he talked with the bosses, as well as the former staff of the program, and realized he will only agree to do it if he can work with the same crew again.
When they were stopped a year ago, they already have plans for the show. They all wanted to go back and just continue on with their plans but unfortunately, all of them have different goals and plans now. Ryan said the “Talentadong Pinoy” staff was the same crew he was with in “Philippine Idol.”
All of them are willing to go back and do the show again, but their director wasn’t available anymore. The director already said “yes” to a lot of projects, and he also has upcoming trips. Up to the last minute that they were talking about doing the show again, all of them were in accordance. However, the director was just struck with the impossibility of the schedule.
Also, TV5 has a definite timeline of when they want the show to come back. They couldn’t meet this deadline, Ryan said. They don’t want to force themselves into the project, especially if they cannot meet the timeline.
Some of the names cropping up to host the show are Marvin Agustin and Mariel Rodriguez.
TV5 wants to air the show this year, but all of them have yet to decide on when they can start taping again, Ryan said.
He is not offended that the network won’t be able to wait for them and instead, launched a lookout already for a new host. Ryan said it’s a business, and he understands the network’s decision to look for his replacement.
He is sad, though, that he won’t be able to be a part of the network anymore. But still, Ryan wishes the show the best of luck. It just so happened that their schedules won’t meet.
He wants to work with the same director and the same production team not because he is being a primadonna about it, but because they have definite plans for the show that they want to push. This time, it didn’t work out though, Ryan lamented.
Currently, he is starring in GMA-7’s “Ismol Family.” He plays the character of Jingo, the father of Marc Justine Alvarez’s character.
Ryan is now a father of two—Yohan and Lucho. Do his kids get jealous when he plays a father role in his projects? When she was still younger, Yohan would usually get jealous, but she understands him more now. Lucho would eventually understand and get jealous, Ryan said, especially if he sees him taking care of another baby boy.
He is happy that “Ismol Family” has good ratings. He said it’s the good feedback from the management. “Increment siya na maliit na tumataas so it’s a slow burn na mas maganda for us.”
Ryan is also enjoying his work with the other stars of the program. He shared that they sometimes finish by two or three in the morning when there are plenty of scenes to shoot. But most of the time, they finish before midnight or by dinner time.
Meanwhile, the actor-TV host and his family, Judy Ann, Lucho and Yohan, were not spared by Typhoon Glenda. They experienced brownout from Wednesday morning until Sunday afternoon.
Ryan said he thought since the kids were already older now, they can survive without electricity for a few days. But when the heat was felt again by Thursday, they decided to check in at the Bellevue Hotel in Alabang on Friday. They stayed there until Sunday.
Ryan and his family live in Alabang. They got a double-room suite for them, and a deluxe room for Ryan’s parents.
They went back to normal the Monday after that week. Judy Ann was cajoling him already to buy a generator for their house. Ryan laughed that he will work harder for that.
