Bela Padilla Finally Has Closure With Marian RiveraNow that Bela Padilla has settled her issue with Marian Rivera, the award-winning scriptwriter and actress is happy that the four-year gap has been bridged. The two Kapuso actresses had a misunderstanding back in 2010 when they working together for the series "Endless Love."
Although the management of GMA Network tried to force them into a truce, there was no real closure between them. Just recently, Sarah Lahbati was the one who decided to bring up the issue with Marian.
The Kapuso primetime queen agreed that it's time to bury the hatchet with Bela, so she invited her and Sarah to guest on her dance show, "Marian." Sarah and Bela are close friends. Marian even guested Sam Pinto, who she also had an argument with.
Marian asked Sarah to tell Bela if she's okay about guesting on her weekly dance show. After clearing it with her manager, Bela agreed to guest with Sarah. She never even thought of rejecting Marian's gesture. She wanted a closure already because it has been four years.
She's not the type to hold grudges, Bela said. "Even four years ago, when it [the issue] just happened, I was initially sad and scared, but I let it go right away."
What was their first meeting like? Bela said she didn't know what to expect, and she didn't even know Marian is going to introduce their dance number. When she saw her in the studio, she already wanted to greet Marian. It was the Kapuso primetime queen who smiled at her first.
Bela smiled back, and Marian opened her arms for a hug. They hugged each other. They weren't able to talk that much because Marian had so many dance numbers. When she saw her again, she just told her that she's happy to see her after such a long time.
Bela said she knows Marian's aware that she is sincere with her greeting. They didn't talk about their issue anymore. There was no need, Bela added, hoping that this will be the last time she will need to talk about it.
Now, she can safely say that there was no awkwardness and there is no gap in their "friendship."
She is willing to work again with Marian even after everything that happened before. In fact, Bela said she is willing to work with her when they weren't okay, so she's more than willing now that they have finally settled their issues.
Meanwhile, Bela just won as the Best Supporting Actress for "10,000 Hours" during the recently held FAMAS Awards shows. It was a "very fulfilling" moment for her.
When she was still starting out in showbiz and attending workshops, Bela would always say that her goal is to win an acting award. She's very happy that because of "10,000 Hours," she was able to win two awards this year.
Bela thought Angel Aquino would win the award because she was also the PMPC Star Awards winner. Bela was able to beat veteran and top-caliber actresses such as Cherie Gil, Coney Reyes, Aiza Seguerra and Gloria Sevilla.
She doesn't think that she was able to beat these actresses, Bela said. It would take years before she can able to reach whatever they have attained in showbiz. She's just lucky to be a part of an "awesome movie with an awesome director, an awesome production team, and awesome co-actors."
She was surprised when her name was called as the winner. She wasn't even able to thank everyone in her speech because she was thinking about going back to the taping of "Sa Puso Ni Dok."
Bela, however, said she is very thankful that she can finally check this award off her bucket list.
