Janella Salvador Feels Lucky To Be A Part Of "Be Careful With My Heart"Janella Salvador said she is lucky to be a part of ABS-CBN's top morning series, "Be Careful With My Heart." It turned her career around, and the network finally took notice of her talent in acting.
"Be Careful With My Heart" also launched her as a promising star of the Kapamilya network. She feels blessed because of the network, she added.
Janella said she is more used to people calling her "Nikki," "Ate Nikki" or "Niknik" now. These are her names in the series, which has changed her life "in so many ways." She didn't expect the series would be that popular or that it would last that long.
She was able to meet many people, and she is even helping her mother, Jenine Desiderio, put her brother Russell through school. She clarified that she is not the breadwinner of their family, but she is simply helping her mom because she can see how hard it is to raise two kids as a single mother.
Janella mulled on why "Be Careful With My Heart" was such a hit, especially for overseas Filipino workers. She said it has such a light story, and it reminds Filipinos of the values they were taught back in the Philippines.
The show also has no contrabida. They just show their everyday struggle. The show reflect what happens in reality, she added.
Two weeks ago, the show had a time lapse, so Nikki (her role) is now in college and trying to enter street theater. She is now only bestfriends with Nicolo (Marlo Mortel), her boyfriend in the series. Janella said the audience should still watch out for what will happen with her character and Nicolo.
It is also important that the viewers watch out for the characters of Luke (Jerome Ponce) and Aby (Mutya Orquia).
Janella shared her thoughts about loveteam partner, Marlo. She knew Marlo since she was 12 and he was in college. They had a Star Magic Glee that time. She was even missing her tooth, Janella recalled, so she was in an awkward stage of her life.
She sees Marlo as her elder brother, so she didn't think they would be paired in the future.
Janella shared that their fans have been supporting them since day one. In fact, some of them are angry that they are just friends in the show, but she said that they should still watch out for what will happen to their characters.
Their fans gave her a Siberian Husky, her dream dog, while they gave Marlo a PSP. They visit them often in taping even if the location is very far, Janella said of their fans, which are fondly called "MarNella."
Most of their fans are still going to school while some are already working, but they make it a point to visit them and make them feel loved. Janella said they have supporters who are only eight or 12 years old. That makes her happy because it means she is their role model.
How is she going to describe her "Be Careful With My Heart" family? They are all close to each other--from the actors to the staff to the crew. She doesn't know how they would all feel if the show has to end already.
Even though it was hard to lose sleep every day, Janella said it was all worth it once they see the results of the show.
Asked how it was to work with Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap, the young actress said they are both kind and have no attitude on the set.
There are rumors that the show will end in December 2014, but Janella maintained that she doesn't know the details about this schedule.
Meanwhile, Janella said she was disappointed at first when the "Be Careful With My Heart" movie didn't push through. It would have been her first time to be a part of the Metro Manila Film Fest.
She said there will be a better time to do a movie during the film fest. She just signed a contract with Regal Films. She will be ready for a movie, but they haven't started shooting it.
Called "Retreat House," it is a horror movie directed by Jun Lana. Janella still doesn't know who she will be acting with in the said movie.
Janella is one of the 15 interpreters for the "Himig Handog Pinoy Pop Love Songs 2014." Other interpreters are Angeline Quinto, Daniel Padilla, Juris, Bugoy Drilon, Jovit Baldivino, Jessa Zaragoza, KZ Tandingan, Ebe Dancel at Abra, Jugs at Teddy, Marion Aunor, Morisette Amon, Hazel Faith dela Cruz, Michael Pangilinan and Jed Madela.
She's happy and honored to be a part of the fest, but it's also "nerve-wracking" for her because she will be competing against more established singers like Jed and KZ.
Her mother, also a singer, was there in the studio with her to guide her with the song. This is her first singing competition, so she's quite nervous, Janella said.
What does she enjoy most? Singing or acting? She has been singing since she's a child, Janella said, adding that she's very happy in doing both.
