Gladys Reyes Is Sad Over Claudine-Raymart SeparationGladys Reyes first met Claudine Barretto back when they started on ABS-CBN while she worked with Raymart Santiago on GMA-7's "Home Sweet Home." This was the reason why she and husband Christopher Roxas became close to the estranged showbiz couple.
She felt bad when she heard that Raymart and Claudine are undergoing annulment and more when the issues between them and their families started cropping up. Gladys said that when you meet them as individuals, you wouldn't think they are capable of the hurtful things being said on the media.
They both have dispositions in life, and they are very nice people. Gladys said she cried at one point when she saw a "Startalk" special on them, which showed their happier times.
Everybody knows what they had to go through in order to be together. Gladys remembered that Claudine was embroiled in a controversy when the late Rico Yan died and Raymart was seen with her in a resort beach.
To know that they went through so much and watch what happened to them now is saddening, Gladys said.
She shared that she and Claudine have constant communication now because of what has been happening. In fact, Claudine invited her to Santino's 7th birthday, but she was unable to come because something happened to her driver and she doesn't know how to drive.
She feels bad that she wasn't able to come because she heard that Raymart was also there.
On the other hand, her friend Judy Ann Santos' married life is also going strong with Ryan Agoncillo. Gladys said she usually sees Juday because of their collaboration for the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
Right now, PT4 has a new show called "MTRCB Uncut." Their pilot episode will have Juday as guest.
As for her own marriage, Gladys said her husband Christopher never gave her any reason to doubt him or for other people to say that he was unfaithful to her. It is not only important that your partner is faithful to you when you're present, it is equally important the he remains true to you when you're not by her side, the actress said.
Meanwhile, Gladys said that she hopes Filipinos will get curious with "Barber's Tales" as to why Eugene Domingo won best actress in Japan and Jun Lana as best director.
She hopes the viewers will also support films such as this. Whenever a film was critically acclaimed in international festivals, the more Filipinos don't support it, Gladys lamented.
Some people think that award-winning shows are boring, so she hopes that the Filipino viewers can give "Barbers' Tales" a chance.
This is Gladys' first indie film, and this is also the first film that she won't be playing a contrabida. Also, she is happy that they were all given a chance to shine in the movie.
Aside from Eugene and Gladys, "Barbers' Tales" also stars Iza Calzado, Nicco Manalo, Shamaine Buencamino, Nonie Buencamino, Daniel Fernando and Eddie Garcia. Superstar Nora Aunor also has a cameo role in the movie.
