Dingdong Dantes And Marian Rivera Set Wedding On December 30, 2014Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera announced that they will be wed on December 30, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.
Showbiz's royal couple face the media on August 15 to talk about details of their impending marriage, tagged as the "royal wedding." The press conference was held for them by their home network, GMA-7.
Dingdong said they decided to share to the public the details of their wedding because they consider the public as part of their love story. Also, they want to share how happy they are.
Marian said she used to promise that she will be open to the public if and when she finally gets engaged. Now, she's remaining true to her words.
The couple also promised that they will share the event with their loved ones. GMA-7 will be the official partner for the event because it is already their "home."
Dingdong proposed to Marian back in 2012 in Macau, but they decided to keep it a secret. On the actress' birthday celebration on her show, "Marian," Dingdong proposed for the second time. It was witnessed by viewers who were tuned in on the show.
Why did they choose that particular date? Dingdong said they wanted to wait for the right time and the right moment. They wanted to get married immediately, especially after the way he proposed last Saturday.
They wanted to get married on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, but the Church won't be available that day. That particular Church is important for them because that's the area where Dingdong was baptized. Also, they usually go there as a couple when they first started going out.
It's both meaningful to them, the actor said. They could have chosen a different Church for a destination wedding, but the couple wanted their wedding to be in Metro Manila, so it will be close to them.
Because they are both considered royalties of showbiz, people will surely flock to their wedding. Dingdong said he wanted to ensure the safety of their guests and those who will be watching them get married.
Marian is hopeful that her father, who is based in Spain, will be able to attend her wedding. Her father was the one who Dingdong talked to when he first proposed to Marian.
They cannot give any details on their entourage since this has not been finalized. Marian only said that her maid of honor would be her bestfriends, Roxanne Barcelo and Ana Feleo. Dingdong's best man would be his brother, Angelo Dantes.
Since Dingdong is close to President Noynoy Aquino, will they be inviting him too? The actor said they'd love to have him on their wedding. Marian also confirmed that Batangas Governor Vilma Santos would be one of their godmothers.
She also said she hasn't chosen a wedding gown or designer yet. She wanted a particular design before, but this changed immediately. She will talk to the designer first before she finalized everything. She hasn't even finalized the motif of their wedding yet.
Marian said she wanted to give full details of their wedding when it's complete. She doesn't want the details to be given in installment.
As for the venue for the reception, they haven't closed the deal yet of the venue they wanted because there was also a big event that day.
Dingdong will shoulder all the expenses of the wedding. Marian said she only has to buy her shoes. The actor also said they are already building their dream house in Metro Manila.
As for their honeymoon, Dingdong said they haven't talked about that. Anyway, they usually go abroad at the end of the year, so he is sure they can finalize that too.
Marian said they wanted to have babies soon, but they don't want to rush anything yet. She also denied that she was pregnant.
She wants to have several children because it was hard to grow up alone. Marian is an only child. She wants a big family.
Dingdong, for his part, said: "Malaking blessing na sa amin na ibinigay kami sa isa’t isa." They want to take things slowly, and take the blessings one at a time.
For him, their impending marriage is already a big blessing. The important thing is they are ready for that next step. It doesn't matter how many children they will be blessed with, as long as there is at least one, Dingdong said.
Marian said it's just important for her that their future baby will be healthy.
