Gretchen Barretto Will Play A Mistress In A MovieGretchen Barretto said she won't have any problems in her next role because she will be playing a mistress. Gretchen is not married to her live-in partner, Tonyboy Cojuangco, because he is still married to his first wife.
"Ay, perfect... hindi na kailangang mag-emote!"
Gretchen shared that she read the book, "Etiquette of Mistresses," where she realized that there are more mistresses than legal wives. It's a reality that society has to accept, she added.
It's a very challenging role for Gretchen, but she trusts director Chito Rono. They are discussing the things she should prepare for and how she will be portraying the role.
She cannot divulge yet who will be part of the movie, but she wanted to share it because it means she has something to look forward to next year.
Gretchen is also curious to the role she is going to play. Everybody is curious to the life of a mistress. There are many labels for mistresses, the actress said, adding that it is also helpful for people to have a glimpse of their lives.
At 44 years old, Gretchen has been through so much in her life, so she's not affected by people criticizing her for being Tonyboy's "mistress."
She cannot hide anything about her life, and she's not scared of all that are being said about her. Right now, she can accept any role offered to her and she'll just give her best to the project.
Whenever she receives criticisms from her bashers, she doesn't feel anything anymore. Instead, she's more empowered to prove herself and shrug them off. She welcomes criticisms, bashing or whatever they are being called now.
Meanwhile, Gretchen will also be working with John Lloyd Cruz in a new movie. She wants to make sure she does well in a project because she wants to leave her mark in the industry.
Every time she does a project, she wants to make sure she gives her best and that it will be remembered down the road. Many people remember her through "Magkaribal" and "Princess And I."
Gretchen said she doesn't have any reason not to be happy. She has Tony, her daughter Dominique and her career. Although there are still things she doesn't have, she chooses instead to count the things that matter to her.
She simply welcomes her problems because she has been blessed so much.
