Christian Bautista Fails To Get Part In Musical "Here Lies Love"Christian Bautista failed to get a part in the musical "Here Lies Love," which will be shown in London. Instead, it is his friend, Mark Bautista, who got the part to play Ferdinand Marcos in the West End show.
But Christian is not disheartened by his failed audition. He said showbiz, and life, is a big audition. He also appreciates more if he can get a role by auditioning rather than bagging it because he was a big star.
Christian's background is on theater acting and singing. The singer said he has failed so much in the past (in commercials, VTRs and theater plays), so he understands that not getting a role is a part of the job.
"It doesn’t make me feel less as an artist or as a person." After 11 or 12 years in the industry, Christian learned that it is always better if he learns to move on. There is always a next audition that he must prepare for.
Aside from Mark, his friend and ex-girlfriend Rachelle Ann Go will also be a part of the West End show "Miss Saigon" in London.
Christian plans to fly to London and watch them in January next year. His only "enemy" is that it's the winter season already.
He doesn't think the original plan to go there with Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos and Jed Madela will push through because Sarah and Jed have shows in London in September, so they might watch it already. Erik, for his part, already watched the show when he was there earlier.
The group was a part of "ASAP's" "Champions" segment.
Christian admitted he misses Rachelle Ann and Mark, but he is also happy for them because they are gaining a lot of respect abroad. But the good thing is, they are coming back, and Christian will be able to learn more about their experiences which they are only too happy to share.
Christian was actually the first of the group to try out an international career. He was part of the musical TV series "Kitchen Musical" that aired in Singapore.
The singer said each person has his/her own path to carve. He doesn't want to compare his accomplishments to his friends, and it wouldn't make him a better person if he does.
Meanwhile, not only is he missing Rachelle Ann as a friend, but also someone he shares the stage with. They will surely celebrate her success once she comes home from London.
Christian and Rachelle Ann remained friends even after their breakup. He can, in fact, joke about Rachelle Ann and Mark falling for each other while they are in London.
The singer will be working in a teleserye with Sheryl Cruz and Sunshine Dizon soon on GMA-7.
