Enrique Gil Is Pressured By New Primetime Soap "Forevermore"Although he is grateful for the vote of confidence being given to him by ABS-CBN, Enrique Gil admitted that he is feeling the pressure to prove that he belongs in the Kapamilya network's primetime slot.
After their teamup in "She's The One," Enrique will now be working in a teleserye entitled "Forevermore" with Liza Soberano.
Enrique said he feels pressured by the success of other primetime shows. But more than that, he wants to enjoy the show and enjoy the moment. This is the first time Enrique will take the leading role in a primetime series.
He was with Kathryn Bernardo in "Princess and I," but his role was overturned by the popularity of teen king Daniel Padilla.
In a primetime show, Enrique said that the focus is on the ratings, so that doubles the pressure. However, he wants to work together with Liza on how they can make their loveteam more enjoyable for the viewers.
This may not be the first time they are working together, but this is certainly the first time they will be helming a teleserye by themselves.
It's good that everyone can see there's a strong chemistry between him and Liza. Even Star Cinema's Malou Santos wants them to work together.
Enrique and Liza are close friends, and they knew each other even before working together in this teleserye. But of course, they are closer now than before because they get to talk more than about work.
He calls Liza a "sweetheart." No one would see any malice in her, he said, adding that it's the thing he likes most about her.
Enrique is single now, and so is Liza. He said it is not impossible for him to fall for someone as pretty, nice and lovable as Liza.
Before Liza, Enrique was partnered with Julia Barretto for "Mira Bella." They became close before and they still get a chance to talk now, although they don't see each other often.
Enrique said he and Liza are busy with their teleserye while Julia is busy with other stuff.
ABS-CBN has three young leading men now--Enrique, Daniel Padilla and James Reid. Enrique said he is okay with a little competition as long as it's healthy. They have different forte, too, he added.
Daniel and James can sing and act while he is more into dancing and acting. They do their own stuff, Enrique said, adding that he doesn't want to focus on the competition.
"Para sa akin, you’ll do good sa craft mo and I’ll do my craft."
It is his choice not to have a girlfriend for now because he wants to focus on his career. It's for the better, he said, adding that it has been a long time since he was in a relationship.
Enrique's ex-girlfriend was Coleen Garcia, who is now with Billy Crawford.
