Kiko Estrada "Feels Safe" In GMA NetworkKiko Estrada said he feels safe now that he is back with GMA-7 after his short stint in ABS-CBN. Kiko added he grew up in GMA and his dad has always been loyal to the Kapuso network.
"I started here and I’m planning to stay here for a long time sana if ma-bless."
Kiko is the son of actor-politician Gary Estrada and Cheska Diaz. He was a part of the Kapuso youth-oriented show "Tween Hearts" but shortly after the show ended, he transferred to ABS-CBN.
He said he thought the opportunity was with the other network, but he maintained that he was never half-hearted with GMA-7. Kiko added he has always been loyal to those who take care of him. And if the network will show him he is important to them, then he will give back three- or four-fold of that loyalty.
Last week, Kiko signed an exclusive contract with GMA Network.
Although he did not give details about his new contract, he said it was a "nice" one and he's planning to make the most out of it. He already told Lilybeth Rasonable, SVP for entertainment TV, that he wants to prove himself to the network and to the fans.
He did not deny that he was hurt by ABS-CBN when he was replaced by Enrique Gil for the leading man role in "Mira Bella" starring opposite Julia Barretto. Diego Loyzaga's character was replaced by Sam Concepcion.
He was excited to make that teleserye because it was a primetime show, and he has already been given the role after he completed the audition. He would be a hypocrite if he didn't say that he was hurt by the replacement.
ABS-CBN already promised him that role, and he studied it for three months. His dad told him to look at it as a blessing in disguise because now, he is back with GMA-7.
While in the Kapamilya network, Kiko became a part of the teleseryes "Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto" and "Annaliza."
Kiko doesn't get bothered by questions of loyalty. He looks at it this way: who was loyal to him and who gave him the importance he deserves? "I believe that you have to show something for your artist to stick and be loyal to you."
