Marian Rivera Talks About Her Wedding Preparations

Kapuso primetime actress Marian Rivera has to do one thing first before tying the knot with longtime boyfriend Dingdong Dantes--she has to be confirmed by the Catholic Church.

Her baptism in Spain is already being accepted by the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, where she and Dingdong plans to get married on December 30 this year. However, the record of her confirmation cannot be found, so she has to undergo it again. Marian will probably be confirmed this October.

The couple already introduced the first batch of their principal sponsors. They are planning to personally visit some of their sponsors such as Atty. Felipe Gozon, Jimmy Duavit and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto.

They have 20 pairs of principal sponsors. They have to cut it down despite many of their friends and mentors wanting to be their godparents.

She and Dingdong are very hands-on when it comes to the preparation of their wedding. They are very particular, even with the fonts being used for their invitations.

But Marian said they are enjoying the process of preparing for their wedding. They have a wedding coordinator to guide them, but they still make the final decisions.

They also agreed on a reception already, although Marian doesn't want to reveal where it is. The only thing she said is it's going to be a huge venue and it will be near the Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.

They also finalized their wedding entourage, though they have yet to decide on their particular roles. When it comes to the boys, that will be up to Dingdong. Marian can discuss her side of the Church, she said.

One of her bridesmaids would be Ai-Ai Delas Alas. She considers the Comedy Concert Queen one of her bestfriends in showbiz. They became close after doing "Kung Fu Divas." She was also one of the first persons to text her after they announced their engagement.

Of course, Marian said Ana Feleo will be a bridesmaid. Some of the others would surprise the public because they are her friends from the other network.

She wants Kathryn Bernardo to be at her wedding, but the teen queen has a show abroad on the 30th. Kathryn was the young Marian in the Pinoy version of "Endless Love" in 2010.

They have already planned their pre-wedding parties. Both their bachelor and bachelorette parties will happen abroad. Marian's will be in September.

She will also follow the old Filipino tradition of not fitting her wedding gown before the big day. Marian said her body does not change that much anyway, so she is confident the gown will fit.

They have no plans to having a baby before they get married. Marian is a "probinsyana" at heart, so they want to be careful and she wants to get married first.

But if they are blessed with a baby before their marriage, then that would still be a welcome news.

Dingdong told her that he wants to be the one to choose her wedding march. Marian is scared that she might cry her eyes out when she hears it. Dingdong said he wants to dedicate a particular song for Marian.

She shared that whenever they talk about their wedding details, they get teary-eyed, so they just laugh at each other. After a year, finally, Marian said, these days have come for them to prepare for their forever.

She joked that there will be many bishops and priests who will bless their wedding, so their union must be really founded on stone.

Meanwhile, even though Marian is busy with her wedding preparations, she is still doing the second season of "Marian" and her movie with Vic Sotto and Ryzza Mae Dizon for the MMFF.

She is also a part of the noontime show "Eat Bulaga." Right now, Marian cannot do a teleserye on top of everything.

After her wedding, she is still planning to continue with "Marian." The actress said she is excited for the second season of her dance show.
