Alex Gonzaga Signs Up As A KapamilyaAlex Gonzaga, the younger sister of actress-TV host Toni Gonzaga, has signed a two-year exclusive contract with ABS-CBN. At the same time, she also inked a management deal with the network’s talent arm, Star Magic. This marks her return to the station where she started her showbiz career more than five years ago.
The young actress was formerly identified with the upstart network TV5. There, she hosted the controversial showbiz gossip show ‘Juicy,’ along with co-hosts IC Mendoza, Mo Twister, Shalala, and Cristy Fermin. She also starred in some of the main drama series of the Kapatid network, including ‘Babaeng Hampaslupa,’ ‘Glamorosa,’ BFGF,’ P.S. I Love You,’ and ‘Enchanted Garden.’
Gonzaga expressed her gratitude for ABS-CBN’s warm welcome when she was interviewed last April 16 by the ABS-CBN morning show ‘Umagang Kay Ganda.’ She revealed that her recent contract signing with the network was attended by the station’s top bosses, including ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio.
She is slated to do three new projects, as stipulated in her network contract. She will serve as a co-host of the upcoming reality singing show ‘The Voice of the Philippines’ along with her older sister Toni. She will also be an addition to the cast of the daily gag show ‘Banana Split.’ Lastly, there are talks that she would do a teleserye with Jericho Rosales.
Alex started her career in ABS-CBN as Cathy Gonzaga. She changed her screen name when she transferred to TV5. Her sister Toni expressed her happiness about Alex’s decision to join the network.
