Valerie Weigmann Is Miss World Philippines 2014Former "Pinoy Big Brother Teen" alumnus and "Eat Bulaga" host Valerie Weigmann was named Miss World Philippines 2014 during the grand coronation night at the Mall of Asia Arena last October 12.
Valerie, candidate no. 19, beat 25 other contestants of the pageant.
Aside from winning the crown, Valerie was also named Miss Fashion Runway, Best in Long Gown and Best in Swimsuit. She also took home special titles such as Miss Solaire, Miss Figlia, Miss Jesi Mendez Ambassador, Miss Reducin, Miss Bench, Miss Blue Water Spa, Miss Hana Shampoo and Miss Olay.
The runners-up for Miss World Philippines 2014 are Lorraine Kendrickson (first princess), Nelda Ibe (second princess), Nicole Donesa (third princess) and Rachel Louise Peters (fourth princess).
The 24-year-old Valerie is a Filipino-German that was known for being a PBB housemate and recently, for joining the noontime show "Eat Bulaga" in their segment "Juan For All, All For Juan." She was also a part of Derek Ramsay's TV5 teleserye, "Kidlat," in 2013.
Valerie took home the crown previously owned by Miss World 2013 Megan Young. Valerie will represent the Philippines in Miss World 2014 in London, England this December 2014.
Meanwhile, Valerie dedicated her win to the indigenous "brothers and sisters" in the Philippines and around the world. She wants to raise awareness about them.
She is also hoping to clinch the Miss World 2014 title like her predecessor, Megan. She wants a back-to-back win for the Philippines that she is willing to work hard and prove to the world that the Filipinos are amazing and deserve the recognition they're getting now.
She didn't expect that she will win the crown because a contest is always a "win or lose" situation. Although she didn't expect to win, Valerie knew she is going to gain such a learning experience from this.
Since the beginning, she didn't have the "I have to win" attitude. She is also thankful for the friendships she cultivated while in the contest.
Valerie is looking forward to the challenges that winning the Miss World 2014 title entails. Admittedly, she feels the pressure of winning the crown again, but she thrives on pressures and challenges, she added.
