Derek Ramsay And Mary Christine Jolly Settle Their IssuesDerek Ramsay and Mary Christine Jolly finally reached an agreement on the thorny issues between them. This was confirmed by Judge Eugene Paras of Branch 58 of the Makati Regional Trial Court.
Although the settlement did not happen in his sala, Judge Paras said the agreement between the two camps was signed for the sake of Derek's and Mary's son, 11-year-old Austin.
They signed it on October 24 at 2PM. The judge was not able to release the terms of the agreement because it was kept private and confidential.
All the cases the two filed against each other have been withdrawn as agreed upon in their agreement.
There was no confirmation yet from either camp, but Judge Paras posted a photo with Derek and Mary on his Facebook account on October 24, saying that the two camps finally settled.
To be reminded, Mary filed a complaint against her estranged husband under RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004. She also filed concubinage charges against Derek and his former girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban.
However, these past weeks, Mary withdrew the complaints against Derek because they felt that the Makati RTC won't be fair on them. Instead, her camp wants to transfer the said complaint to the Department of Justice.
Derek did not give any information about the agreement, but he posted a photo with his son on Instagram, saying that it was the best day of his life.
As for Mary, her legal counsel Atty. Argee Guevarra simply posted a Facebook status: "There comes a point for an advocate for the victim, the voiceless and the vulnerable where he attains sublime eloquence in the words 'No Comment.'"
Atty. Joji Alonso, Derek's lawyer, said they will release a statement in the coming days.
