John Lloyd Cruz Challenges Lovechild To Come OutJohn Lloyd Cruz said he's aware that there is a blind item that he has a lovechild from when he was 15 years old.
Lloydie, as he was fondly called, said he knew about the blind item from veteran showbiz journalist Ogie Diaz.
If it is true, the girl should approach him and ABS-CBN, so that they can test if what she's claiming is true. However, Lloydie said he wouldn't have had a baby when he was 15 years old because he'll be ashamed to admit it to his parents.
The blind item came out in a showbiz blog. It posted a screencap of a message written by a 16-year-old girl, who recently passed the UPCAT. The letter alleged that she was brought along to Los Angeles, wherein she was introduced as the actor's niece.
ABS-CBN recently brought their artists to LA for an "ASAP" show. Lloydie said the blind item pointed out to him clearly. The screencapped Facebook post has the hashtag #kantogirl. Lloydie is a member of Kanto Boys with Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano.
Of course, Lloydie said that "nothing is impossible." But if they have proof that the girl is really his daughter, they should come forward and present it to him.
He feels that this blind item is merely testing him. If there are allegations against him and the people don't know how to contact him, they can come to ABS-CBN because he's technically an employee of the network. The management will be able to get hold of him.
Lloydie wants everything done in the proper forum. "Kasi, kung totoo naman ang allegation at meron silang patunay na naniniwala silang totoo ‘yan, dapat gawin natin sa tamang paraan."
For sure, the people who started these are very happy because the media picked up the information. Next time, he suggested for these people to do it through his employer.
Lloydie has a very "mature" take on having children. His two older brothers and cousins all have children of their own, and he saw them mature to become fathers.
He likes to think he has a good grasp of how important it is to be a father to his child, if he ever has one.
On top of these all, Lloydie and girlfriend Angelica Panganiban will be vacationing in the US for one month. He was able to take this long vacation because his contract with ABS-CBN ended this October.
They will depart for the US in the first week of November. He hasn't taken a long vacation in three years because he doesn't want to take a leave from his contract with ABS-CBN.
He will probably meet Angelica's biological father in Los Angeles, where they will be staying with Angelica's relatives. They will also meet some of Lloydie's friends there.
The couple, in the last three years, was able to keep their relationship private despite both being high-profile celebrities.
Lloydie said they are both okay, and they don't even think about their relationship unless someone asks them to evaluate it.
Their relationship is going strong, and they are both maturing as a couple. He likes to believe that they complement each other in terms of their goals in life.
Lloydie shared how he supported Angelica when Derek Ramsay's estranged wife, Mary Christine Jolly, filed concubinage charges against her. Angelica and Derek were together for six years.
The acclaimed actor said a friend texted him to give them a heads up that the charges will be filed. He was supposed to leave for LA that day, but he postponed it to be with Angelica.
He understands the situation, and accepts that the past may caught up with your present sometimes. He and his family made sure, however, that they support Angelica 100 percent.
On October 24, Mary's and Derek's camp agreed to a settlement, although it was not clear if the concubinage charges will also be withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Lloydie explained why his teleserye with Maja Salvador and Jericho Rosales won't be pushing through. It will start in October, but his contract with the network is due to expire this month too.
Lloydie said it'll be hard for him to negotiate his contract with ABS-CBN while doing a teleserye with them. Xian Lim replaced his role.
He denied that there is a chance for him to transfer to another network. However, as an artist, he wants everything to be settled first before entering into a commitment.
Lloydie is currently starring in the ABS-CBN sitcom "Home Sweetie Home" with Toni Gonzaga. He said he enjoys the show and there were no awkward moments between him and Toni.
At first, it was normal for them to feel awkward with their sweet scenes because they're portraying a married couple.
He doesn't think of the show as work for him. He can do it for free because he feels that they're a family already since they've been together for a year.
That's the best thing to discover about your job--that it's not work anymore for you, Lloydie said.
