Iya Villania-Arellano Is A Kapuso AgainIya Villania-Arellano is back to being a Kapuso after transferring to ABS-CBN 12 years ago. She signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 today, October 29.
Iya's transfer to the Kapuso network was a "blind Item" yesterday until finally, GMA Network posted on their Instagram Iya's signing of her contract.
According to the network, this is a "homecoming" for Iya because she started with GMA's "Click" back in 2003. She transferred to ABS-CBN in 2004.
Although the fact that her husband, Drew Arellano, is with GMA-7, Iya said this was not the reason why she came back to the network. She admitted talking to him, of course, about her decision.
When they were negotiating and Iya was coming to terms regarding her decision, he was the one she talked with.
With GMA-7, Iya said she will continue the things she loved doing when she was with ABS-CBN. That included dancing, hosting and singing. On Sunday, Iya will officially be a part of "Sunday All Stars," the rival of ABS-CBN's "ASAP 19," wherein Iya was a mainstay.
There will also be a drama series for her.
Meanwhile, Camille Prats welcomed Iya to the Kapuso network. Camille and Iya are under the same management of Arnold Vegafria.
Camille didn't know about the transfer, but she said it's good they're with the same network now. There's a lot Iya can do on GMA-7, especially when it comes to hosting and acting.
It's good to know that the Kapuso network has gained another great host like Iya, Camille added.
