Jolina Magdangal Feels Emotional After Warm Welcome By KapamilyaJolina Magdangal turned emotional when she was warmly welcomed by Kapamilya artists. She said she was overwhelmed by the way the Kapamilya network is welcoming her again.
She started her career as an ABS-CBN artist but moved to GMA-7 12 years ago. Jolina said everything is happening fast, and that transferring back to ABS-CBN was a major decision for her.
She can feel the love of the network, especially because a project was immediately offered to her. Because of "Flor de Liza," wherein she will be paired with former loveteam Marvin Agustin, Jolina will forever be grateful to ABS-CBN.
Marvin was also rumored to be Jolina's ex-boyfriend. He also transferred to GMA-7 shortly after Jolina. Now, Marvin is also a returning artist of ABS-CBN.
Jolina clarified that for her, Marvin wasn't her ex, but Marvin said they had mutual understanding then. Maybe because she always says that she loves him, she mused.
Asked why their relationship did not bloom, Jolina said maybe it wasn't time yet for them because they were both young and they were both focused on their careers.
She was sure, though, that she liked Marvin then. She joked that what she wasn't sure was if Marvin liked her too.
In "Flor de Liza," they will play a more mature role. It's more intimate and dramatic, Jolina said, adding that she really liked the story because a "new Jolina" will be seen by viewers.
Jolina was formerly known as an icon because of her fashion sense. What was her favorite fashion trend? She said it's the Jolina Doll, her colorful hairstyle, and the accessories.
When she was doing that, she wasn't thinking about being a fashion icon. She was doing it because she liked it. She never thought that a lot of people are looking up to her fashion sense.
Jolina is aware that people already coined the term "Jolina Look" for people who have lot of accessories. Up until now, there are still roles in movies that kinda looked like her fashion sense.
Meanwhile, Jolina said that in all the decisions she's making, she has her husband Mark Escueta by her side. It's a nice feeling to marry your bestfriend, she said.
She didn't feel like they were a family without their baby Pele, so he was really a blessing for them. "Kahit ano pa ang nagawa ko sa showbiz or nagawa ko sa buhay ko, ibang blessing kapag meron ka nang anak."
Jolina is very hands-on on Pele. She's actually breastfeeding him. She doesn't want to miss any milestone in Pele's life because she will only regret the time she lost.
Asked why she remained level-headed despite the fame, Jolina said showbiz was different during her time. She also doesn't want to be boastful and see people hating to work with her.
Jolina believes in work ethics. "Kaya dapat, mula noon hanggang ngayon, kung maaga kang dumarating sa taping, dapat hanggang ngayon, ganoon pa rin."
On November 6, Jolina will turn 36 years old. What is her wish? She is just thankful that her prayers have been answered. She feels blessed for the years she had in showbiz.
She wanted to thank GMA-7 for the 12 years they took care of her, and to ABS-CBN for welcoming her warmly.
Jolina is also thankful for PPL Entertainment. They were her light throughout her journey to coming back to ABS-CBN. Moreover, the actress expressed gratitude to Star Magic and ABS-CBN executives Linggit Tan and Lauren Dyogi.
Lastly, she wants to thank her fans for supporting her throughout the years. She's excited to "introduce" herself to the new generation who wasn't able to watch her in the 90s.
