Sarah Geronimo Sings "The Glow" For DisneyPopstar Princess Sarah Geronimo will be featured in Disney's "The Glow" music video to encourage Filipino kids to believe in themselves and follow their dreams.
"The Glow," considered to be the song of Disney princesses, is a powerful song about empowerment and self-belief. It will surely entertain Disney Channel audiences in the Philippines as it is set to premiere on December 6 (Monday).
Sarah will sing the English language of the song that has already been translated and performed in different local languages such as Thai, Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia. The localized versions were performed by popular artists such as Oranicha Krinchai (Proud) of Thailand, Daiyan Trisha of Malaysia, and Chilla Kiana of Indonesia.
Natasha Malhotra, general manager of Branded Media and Content, The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, said that "The Glow" is a "crown jewel" in the company's songbook. It reflects the unique qualities of Disney princesses.
"Through this song, we hope to inspire Filipino kids to believe in themselves, follow their dreams and recognize that true beauty comes from within by being kind and compassionate just like their very own homegrown Princess, the young, talented and beautiful Sarah."
"The Glow" was first performed in the US for Rapunzel's coronation ceremony in 2011. It was written and produced for the Disney Princess franchise. It was originally performed by British singer Shannon Saunders.
The premiere of the song will coincide with the special "I Am A Princess" weekend on Disney Channel. The viewers can enjoy hit Disney classics such as "The Little Mermaid" and "Sleeping Beauty."
Sarah's rendition of "The Glow" will be launched on December 6 across Southeast Asia at 9AM on Disney Channel.
