John Lloyd Cruz Explains "Pullout" From The Teleserye "Bridges"John Lloyd Cruz said it is unfair how it seemed that he backed out from his series "Bridges" with Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador. He explained that the casting wasn't final yet and that he was one of the actors being considered for the role.
Lloydie, as he is fondly called, allegedly backed out from the series because he had yet to decide back in November if he will resign a contract with ABS-CBN.
When the project was offered to him back in August, his contract was about to expire. He didn’t want to delay the series just because he's waiting for negotiations on his contract to finish.
He told Star Creatives, the producers of "Bridges," not to include him in the story conference and not to pitch the story to him because his contract was about to end. It makes no sense for him to commit to a series that will run for the next six months when his contract was due to expire by October.
When he was negotiating with the management, he was the one to tell them if they want to look for another actor for the series because he doesn't want for them to wait and delay the project.
Lloydie also said he doesn't want his decision on his contract to be clouded because he's already committed to a show.
Based on those events, the actor said it was impossible for him to "leave" a show he has not been a part of officially yet. He was not fully committed to the show the time he allegedly "backed out."
"So parang ako, paano ko iiwan 'yun kung hindi pa naman talaga ako diyan?"
In interviews, both Jericho and Maja refused to comment on reports that Lloydie left the show hanging. Echo just said that they are shooting the series while Maja said she would be looking forward to working with Lloydie in another project. She added that he might have valid reasons for leaving the show.
Taping for "Bridges" started on September 12.
