Luiz Manzano Is Not Pressured To Get MarriedLuis Manzano is not getting pressured to propose to girlfriend Angel Locsin despite the number of celebrity couples getting married and getting engaged left and right.
Luis said that if that happens, he wants it to be because they are both ready for it. He doesn't want to jump on the bandwagon. "Kumbaga, all their engagements happened on their own time, so ganoon din sa amin."
Asked if he's planning to start settling down this year, Luis said he still has a lot of plans aside from that, although he admits he's not getting any younger.
Angel, however, still has a movie with his mom, Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos, and the remake of "Darna." He wants to take it easy, so that Angel will have the time to focus on her work.
Luis admits his mom does not keep her desire to have a grandchild from him. Every time she sees his friends with babies of their own, she would point at the baby and mimic cradling one in her arms.
Every time this happens, Luis would joke that Vilma should ask for a grandchild from Ryan Christian, her son with Senator Ralph Recto.
Meanwhile, it looks like Luis is gearing up to join politics. When he participated in a festival in Taal, Batangas with Angel, Vilma and his Tito Ralph, the senator told him they have to talk about his plans soon. He wants to know if Luis is ready to finally serve the people.
What will make him say he's ready? Luis said some wait for a physical sign like a white dove. And although that works for him too, that only constitutes about 20% of his decision. The rest will come from prayers.
He wants a sign from God, for Him to "talk" to him on a personal level. "More spiritual, more personal, I think that's the way to find out if you're ready to do something."
Luis clarified that no one ever pressured him to join politics--not his mom, his dad Edu Manzano or his stepdad Senator Ralph. What they always tell him is that whatever his decision may be, they will support him.
If he wants to be an actor, host and businessman all his life, his family will be there for him. But at the same time, if he wants to run for politics, they want him to make sure he's ready to serve the people.
