Edgar Allan Guzman Transfers To ABS-CBNEdgar Allan Guzman is now on a per-show-contract on ABS-CBN. He transferred last year from TV5.
When he did, he decided to start from scratch because he wants to try something new for himself as an actor. He saw that on ABS-CBN, his skills as an actor will be better utilized.
He shared that he told TV5 about his decision. It was his manager, Noel Ferrer, that talked on his behalf.
Edgar focused on his growth as an actor. It would make him feel better and he would be more successful as an actor. He wants to have the chance to do a teleserye and to win awards, and he believes he can get that now that he is with ABS-CBN.
Edgar will now be a part of the new series "Oh My G!" with Janella Salvador and Janice de Belen.
The actor believes that ABS-CBN will fulfill his dreams as an actor. Although he owes TV5 so much, his career has been stagnant last year while he was there. His project there before he decided to transfer was a gag show "Tropa Mo 'Ko Unli."
He told the show his plans. He was with them for four years, so he was also said to be leaving them. However, he needs to focus on his career move and his passion for acting.
For one year, he wasn't able to act. All Edgar did was the gag show. "Hindi ako nagkaroon ng project, nabakante ako; yun lang gag show ang pinagkaabalahan ko."
He needed to do indie films, so that people won't forget about him, he added. While he was with TV5, Edgar did "Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me" in 2010, where he won as Best Actor in Cinemalaya and other award-giving bodies.
He did that to prove to TV5 management that he has more than what it takes to win awards.
Coco Martin is a big inspiration to Edgar. Coco started with doing indie films until he finally landed a mainstream role. Edgar wanted to do what Coco did with his career.
Edgar said Coco had struggles too before. There were times he didn't have any projects but his talent and perseverance led him to where he is now.
What he always prays for is not to lose hope in his career.
