Denise Laurel Sad Over Iya Villania's Transfer To GMA-7

Denise Laurel and Iya Villania once worked together on "Click" for GMA-7 when they were still young. That was before they hopped on to the Kapamilya network.

They became close friends since then, which makes Denise sad that Iya decided to go back to GMA-7 because it's easier to see each other when they are in the same network.

However, Denise said she will still be happy for her as long as the transfer makes Iya happy. The actress said Iya is not only a close friend, but she also admires her personality, especially her strong beliefs.

When they were still with ABS-CBN, it was hard already for them to see each other. It would be harder now that they belong to different networks. "But, you know, I’m so happy for her because whatever makes her happy makes me happy."

Denise and Iya weren't able to talk about the latter's decision to transfer networks. In fact, Denise learned about Iya's decision when she already officially jumped ship.

Meanwhile, Denise will be busy being a part of ABS-CBN's new series for its afternoon timeslot, "Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita," which will be directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial.

Denise is very happy and excited to be a part of the afternoon timeslot because Kapamilya Gold is like her home already since she made Precious Hearts series.

There's good competition on that timeslot, Denise said, adding that not many people know that fact. But even though her series is not for timeslot, Denise said ABS-CBN requires all of its shows to be number one, so it won't put something there that has no chance to be on top.

She doesn't feel it unfair that their teleserye will not be on primetime.

Denise prepared a lot for this series, not just because she will be starring alongside a veteran actress in Vina Morales. "Tinotodo ko talaga yung craft ko, yung pag-aaral ko."

She studies the details of her clothes, her hair, her mannerisms, etc., because she wants to deliver something different for every character she portrays.

This is her first time to portray the role of the "other woman." Denise, however, said this "other woman" has a heart. It's not just one-sided, she added.

"May puso, may pinaggagalingan, may good things, may quirks and charms about her."

Aside from Vina and Denise, "Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita" will also star Jane Oineza, Jerome Ponce, Joshua Garcia, Loisa Andalio and many others.
