Kris Aquino Visits Wake Of PNP-SAF Members

Presidential sister Kris Aquino visited the burial of the members of Philippine National Police-Special Action Forces (PNP-SAF), who have fallen on the hands of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) on January 25.

According to reports, Kris even talked to a number of the cops' loved ones while she was in the wake.

The actress-TV host reached out to the family members, and said she also knows how it feels to lose somebody because her own father, former Senator Ninoy Aquino, was killed violently.

Senator Aquino was ambushed at the then Manila International Airport in 1983 after coming home from an exile in America.

Kris said that they have so much respect to the sacrifice these PNP-SAF members did for their country. The actress-TV host's "Kris TV" family also went to Manaoag to have a mass there celebrated by Fr. Jerry Manlangit.

Kris said she went there for her regular thanksgiving mass before her birthday on February 14.

Before her visit to the wake, a lot of criticisms have been thrown at her brother, President Benigno Aquino 3rd, for his decision to attend the opening of a Mitsubishi plant in Laguna rather than attend the arrival of the fallen PNP-SAF members at the Villamor Airbase.

The topic #NasaanAngPangulo trended on Twitter on January 29, a day after the President announced a National Day of Mourning on Friday.

Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte explained that the arrival of the bodies of the PNP-SAF members was not in the schedule of the President.

President Aquino attended the necrological service for the SAF members on Friday.
