Xian Lim Refuses To Promote Albay?Albay Governor Joey Salceda alleged that actor Xian Lim refused to promote his province during the Fiesta Tsinoy Albay held there.
On his Facebook post, the governor talked about his problems with Xian as a guest during the event. He alleged that Xian told him he was not there to promote Albay.
The governor said Albay has been paying Xian as a guest since 2011 when his talent fee was only P75,000 for Ginoo Magayon. Now, his talent fee is at P350,000 for Fiesta Tsinoy Albay.
Governor Salceda gave three reasons to why he acted that way: 1. He was not raised well; 2. He had bad education; 3. He is not being managed well; 4. His character is opposed to how he looks like; or 5. He is on something.
This was not the first time Xian was dragged in a controversy during the Chinese New Year. It can be remembered that last year, Xian insensitively remarked that Kim Chiu's Kalokalike, who was a guest in a show, actually looked like Bea Binene.
Xian mended the issue by apologizing to the guest and the audience of the show.
Meanwhile, Star Magic, the management handling Xian's career, clarified that what Xian refused to do was wearing the t-shirt offered to him and not promoting the province.
The actor said he decided not to wear the t-shirt offered to him, and gave back the coffee table book, because it might have conflict with the clothing brand he's endorsing.
Xian apologized to the people of Albay for the misunderstanding. He said he loves Albay, and has always been happy to be there for a show.
"I deeply apologize to gov. Salceda and the people of Albay for the misunderstanding about my reasons for refusal to wear the t shirt."
The actor also answered Governor Salceda's list of reasons why he acted that way. He said his parents raised him well, and his management (ABS-CBN) has always stressed the importance of decency and humility.
He clarified that he does not do drugs and he worked hard to get where he is.
In the end, Xian said he would have worn the t-shirt if it was sent to him before the event, so he can get a clearance from the clothing brand he endorses. He would have been more than happy to wear the shirt online and on air.
