Governor Joey Salceda Says Xian Lim Does Not Deserve Forgiveness

Albay Governor Joey Salceda did not accept the apology offered by actor Xian Lim for allegedly refusing to promote Albay. The governor took to Facebook this week to lash out at Xian for his actions during the Fiesta Tsinoy 2015 there.

According to Governor Salceda's Facebook post, Xian gave back the t-shirt and coffee table book they presented to him, saying that he was not there to promote Albay.

Xian said he did not say those words, and he is willing to promote Albay. It's just that wearing a t-shirt may be in conflict with the clothing brand he currently endorses. If he was given clearance, Xian could have worn it, he added.

In another post, Governor Salceda said it was not him who Xian embarrassed and humiliated, but the hardworking people of the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office or PTCAO.

He alleged that Xian does not understand why he was angry at what he had done. The governor said they were not forcing the actor to wear the shirt, but just giving it to him as souvenirs.

The t-shirt and the coffee table book are touristic materials, he added.

Atty. Cruz, the one who gave Xian the book and shirt, told in an interview that they were merely giving the items to the actor as souvenirs.

Governor Salceda alleged that Xian is trying to make them look like liars because he was denying that he said he didn't want to promote Albay. Xian was apparently paid P350,000 for the event.

Netizens are expressing their support for Xian through making the topic "We Support Xian Lim" trend on Twitter. There are also various memes about what happened between the actor and Governor Salceda on Facebook.

There are reports that the governor is preparing to declare Xian persona non grata in Albay. Xian has yet to comment on these fresh allegations.
