Mayweather was the one who announced the megafight by posting on his social network accounts the contract signed by the two boxers. Manny also posted the photo of the contract, and said that he had signed it before and was only waiting for Floyd to do the same.
Floyd posted the contract with a Bible quote in his caption.
According to reports, this megafight will expectedly break all records in boxing history. This is also the biggest paydays for both Floyd and Manny.
Floyd will be paid more than $120 million while Manny will get more than $80 million. The negotiations for the deal lasted for five years.
At long last, both camps agreed to the "fight of the decade." They also decided to shelve their differences with regards to the issues of drug testing and television rights. Floyd said he promised the fans they would get it done, and they did.
Manny was sleeping when Floyd, who had rights to announce the fight, posted the contract on his social network. But Manny's camp came out with a statement, dedicating the fight to boxing fans and to Filipinos around the world.
Reports about their possible fight happening this year came out when the two met face-to-face for the first time in a Heat-Bucks game in Miami, Florida. Manny is friends with Heat coach Erik Spoelstra while Floyd lives in Florida.
The two reportedly met in Manny's hotel suite after the game. There, they treshed out the details of the megafight and closed the negotiations.
Manny's and Floyd's fight will air on the joint venture of Showtime and HBO.
