Jolo Revilla's Alleged Suicide Attempt Is Not Because Of Jodi Sta. MariaCavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla did not attempt suicide because of relationship problems with actress Jodi Sta. Maria, sources said.
Reports said Jolo attempted to commit suicide through a gunshot wound to his right chest on Saturday morning at the Revilla residence at Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City.
The actor-politician is apparently depressed because of what's happening with his father, Senator Bong Revilla, who's currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center because of his alleged involvement in the PDAF scam. His depression worsened when DILG Secretary Mar Roxas told media that the senator will be transferred to the City Jail because of his attendance to Senator Juan Ponce Enrile's birthday party at the PNP General Hospital last February 14.
Jolo is now confined at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City. Senator Bong is reportedly devastated by the news, but he cannot visit his son until Sandiganbayan allows him to.
Atty. Raymund Fortun, the Revilla family's spokesman, denied that Jolo tried to kill himself. The incident was just an accident when Jolo was cleaning his .40 Glock handgun. He is currently under observation and medication at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa. He will remain there for the next 48 to 72 hours.
The Revilla family is asking for prayers for Jolo's speedy recovery.
Congressman Lani Revilla posted the same statement on her Twitter account. In the end, she thanked those praying for Jolo.
Jodi rushed to the hospital as soon as the news reached her, reports said.
