Toni Gonzaga Puts An End To Bb. Pilipinas IssueToni Gonzaga no longer wants to talk about her controversial hosting stint during the Bb. Pilipinas coronation night last March 15, Sunday.
"There's no point of looking back and talk about it over and over again." Toni said addressing the issue during the press conference for her movie with Coco Martin, "You're My Boss," was the first and last time she wants to talk about the issue.
People need to move on from what happened during the coronation night. The winners have already been declared, he added.
Toni apologized to those who have been dismayed or disappointed with the way she hosted the pageant. There was even a national debate on whether or not the people liked her hosting style, Toni joked.
It was never her intention to hurt or malign anyone, the actress-singer said. She was highly criticized by former Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Nina Ricci Alagao, fashion designer Cary Santiago and numerous netizens for her jokes and candidness during the pageant.
At one point, Toni joked about a contestant's chandelier earrings, as well as if that candidate wants to join the pageant again in the future.
Before the show, Toni said she was instructed to make it fun, light and to ease the tension, especially during the Q&A portion. It was never her intention to make anyone uncomfortable--she hosted it that way to make it lively.
Although it became controversial, Toni said she is still grateful for the chance to host the beauty pageant. It was a wonderful experience for her because she enjoyed the crowd and the audience.
She also thanked her friends, family and supporters who defended her from the criticisms. In the end, she asked everyone to "end" the issue with "world peace."
