Gretchen Barretto Prefers To Remain Silent About Family FeudGretchen Barretto, whose family is currently embroiled in an embittering public feud, refused to grant an interview even for her manager, Boy Abunda's "The Buzz."
Many expected that Gretchen will finally deliver her statement on their family feud on Sunday's "The Buzz" episode, where she is occasionally a guest host.
However, Abunda said he advised his ward to just remain silent about the issue since this is her family they are talking about.
Asked if she is open to let bygones be bygones with her family, Gretchen has this to say: "I have no answer for a possibility of reconciliation."
The Barretto clan is seemingly divided into two camps--the parents and sister Gia on Claudine's side and Marjorie and Jay-Jay on Gretchen's side.
According to Abunda, Gretchen is still hurting because of what has been revealed publicly.
The Barretto matriarch, Inday, accused Gretchen of harassing Claudine and of disowning their family. She also called her own daughter an "ST Queen."
“Patuloy pa rin daw siyang nasasaktan sa mga nangyayari ngayon sa kanyang pamilya."
“Tila, muli raw bumabalik ang lahat ng alaalang kanyang pinagdaanan."
It will take a lot of provocation for Gretchen to come out and speak again about the issue, Abunda said.
In the middle of the Barretto controversy is Marjorie's daughter, Julia, who was just launched as the newest member of Star Magic 2013.
Marjorie and Gretchen accused Claudine of trying to bring down Julia because this is Gretchen's way of getting back at her.
Claudine apparently wanted to go back to her Kapamilya network, but Gretchen instead pushed Julia to join showbiz.
Julia, however, said she is not affected by the issue.
“Kasi for me, marami na akong mga naririnig na rumors, marami na kaming napagdaanan as a family and we surpassed them all and we’re okay now."
“So, whatever trials will come our way, for sure, kaya naming lagpasan yun.”
