Source Close To Popoy Caritativo Tells The Other Side Of Martin Escudero Issue
An unnamed source described as someone inside Caritativo’s camp and who has worked alongside Escudero contacted the Philippine Entertainment Portal to tell Caritativo’s side of the story, the publication reports.
Though not coming directly from the celebrity manager, this is the closest thing the entertainment industry has right now to an explanation from the manager who has seen Marian Rivera and Escudero leave his talent management firm recently.
According to this source, he contacted the publication so that the issue’s background story will be known by the public.
“I just want you to know the background story so that when you deal with it, it will not be one-sided,” the source said.
According to the source, the actor “does everything for his family” and is the lone breadwinner working for the family. Because of this, Escudero and Caritativo formed a “mutual agreement” for the manager to take care of the finances of the Kapatid actor.
This agreement is for Escudero to save and invest, the source said.
“Hindi siya nakakaipon dahil he's spending too much! Tuloy, nasasabihan siya ni Popoy ng 'Hinay-hinay sa paggastos.' Sa tuwing umuuwi iyan, nagbibigay sa family niya,” the source told PEP.
According to the publication, Escudero gives an P80,000 allowance to his family every month. This excludes expenses incurred by the actor for “outing, party, o pambayad sa utang,” PEP said.
“All these years na nakatira siya kay Popoy, lahat ng mga personal expenses—mula haircut, driver, parking spaces, clothes, derma—ay si Popoy ang bahala,” the source said.
As for Escudero’s claim that Caritativo stops him from seeing his family, the source explained he did not understand why the actor has said this.
“Parati iyan sa Cavite, especially since January nung natapos yung Enchanted Garden. Every time wala siyang taping, he goes home. Every 10th and 25th, he's there,” the source said.
The only time Caritativo stops Escudero from going home is when he has a tapings for shows.
“Example, noong panahong nagsapaw yung Enchanted Garden sa shoot ng 'Lost Command,' hindi talaga siya pinayagan ni Popoy,” the source explained.
PEP says that the source is not convinced by the reasons given by Escudero for leaving Caritativo.
“Seven years is seven years. He even lived in Popoy's house. At yung paglipat ng family sa Cavite? Yung prize niya sa StarStruck, dun napunta sa house na yun,” the source said.
“Maliit yung condo unit sa Mandaluyong para sa buong pamilya, at mahal ang renta and expenses. Then si Mart, nakikitulog sa kung saan-saan kasi ang layo ng Cavite,” the source added.
According to the source Caritativo “treated Martin like his own son, that's why now, he's hurting.”
