‘Be Careful With My Heart’ Movie Set For MMFF 2013“Be Careful With My Heart” may spawn a movie entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) if a recent rumor proves to be true.
In a report, the Philippine Entertainment Portal said that Star Cinema will be making a movie version of the popular television show as its entry to the 39th MMFF.
“Be Careful With My Heart,” headlined by Jodi Sta. Maria as Maya and Richard Yap as Richard “Sir Chief” Lim, first aired in July 2012 and is the first television show filmed and broadcast by ABS-CBN in high definition.
Directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial, the show centers on the unintentional love story between Maya, a poor “probinsiyana” who met Richard in her quest for work in Metro Manila, and Sir Chief, a rich widower who gets Maya as his children’s maid in exchange for helping her become a flight attendant.
“Be Careful With My Heart” was originally set for only one season but due to its popularity, it has been constantly renewed. It now has over 200 episodes.
ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Charo Santos-Concio joked in April that the show will air “forever”.
“[‘Be Careful With My Heart’] will be there forever. Hanggang mayroon nang apo. That's always a challenge for our content creators. The challenge is always for the next big hit... but for the meantime, as long as the public is supporting 'Be Careful With My Heart,' it will be there,” ABS-CBN quotes the executive as saying.
