Judy Ann Santos Throws Support For Ai-Ai Delas AlasSince her upcoming soap "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" tackles the issue of domestic abuse, Judy Ann Santos couldn't help but comment on the latest ordeal Ai-Ai Delas Alas is going through.
“Mahal namin siya and we’re all here for her. Siyempre, sad kasi kaibigan na natin si Ai-Ai. But I don’t know Jed personally. I have nothing else to say to him."
“It’s just that it’s really sad na parang ang isang love story na pinangarap ng isang tao, all of a sudden ay biglang nawala."
Delas Alas is now planning to file for divorce against her husband, Jed Salang, who she married just last April 3 in Las Vegas.
This was after the comedienne was physically and verbally abused. She also found out Salang has a secret girlfriend.
Santos clarified that her teleserye has nothing to do with Delas Alas' situation since the theme was finalized over a year ago.
But Santos recognized the importance of discussing issues such as domestic abuse, especially for women who has not yet find the strength to come out with their stories.
She hopes "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" can be an eye-opener to women suffering from physical abuse.
“Sana sa paglabas nitong soap na pinaghandaan namin, marami kaming mahikayat na mga kababaihan na ipaglaban ang mga sarili nila."
Santos also said women should know how to fight for themselves, and that they should stand up for the right things.
She's sure a lot of women will be able to relate to her latest teleserye, which will start on June 17 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.
“May mga manaka-naka rin naman akong kakilala na ito ‘yong mga pinagdadaanan nila. Not necessarily wife but sila mismo bilang isang tao."
She didn't give any details as to who these persons are.
Santos said she's saddened every time she hears stories about women being abused by their partners. She hopes the teleserye can inspire these women to fight for themselves and stand up for their rights.
