John Lloyd Cruz Wants Early Retirement From Showbiz; Became Emotional During PressconJohn Lloyd Cruz said that he wants an early retirement from showbiz to be able to enjoy his life with his would-be family.
During a press conference for his latest movie with Sarah Geronimo, It Takes A Man And A Woman, Cruz became emotional and said that he wanted to stop acting at an early age.
He has yet to announce what age that would be, but he said that he would know if it’s the right time already.
Cruz said that he is still waiting to be financially stable before he will retire from showbiz. He added that he wants to enjoy his life with his family. If he can, Cruz said that he will be open to accepting side projects.
“Kapag dumating na siya at naramdaman mo na, baka puwede na,” he said, adding that it would be hard for him to set a specific age.
When asked further, he said that early retirement is really just about enjoying the quality of life.
“Kung kakayanin na to have an early retirement and enjoy more quality time with my family—with my mom especially, with my love ones,” Cruz said. But he added that marrying is not yet in the equation.
Currently, Cruz is going out with fellow Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban.
Talking about It Takes A Man And A Woman, Cruz said that he has some similarities with his character, Miggy Montenegro.
He shared two previous movies with Geronimo—A Very Special Love (2008) and You Changed My Life (2009).
He became emotional describing his character. Cruz said that in the end, being a good person is more important than being rich and successful.
“Yun lang, that’s all that matters. Yun lang, just be a good person. Lahat secondary,” Cruz said.
But he said that in the end, will success make you happy? Is that all that matters?
During a one-on-one interview with PEP.PH, Cruz said that his character became very close to his heart. He said that he can associate with the movie, and that’s why she is very emotional.
