Chin Chin Gutierrez Has Not Become A NunAmid recent reports that Chin Chin Gutierrez has entered a convent and become a nun, her former manager has come out to refute the growing rumor.
According to Angela “Anjie” Ureta, Gutierrez has not entered a Carmelite convent to become a nun but rather to serve as an ecological lay worker.
Ureta said in a post on Facebook “Over the last two weeks, I've been receiving calls, text and FB messages asking if reports about Chin-Chin Gutierrez becoming a "Carmelite nun" are true.”
Gutierrez’s former manager and friend said that she did not want to comment on the rumor that her friend has become a nun because she no longer represents her but she just wanted to clear things up because people keep on asking her.
“I didn't want to comment on this as I'm no longer her manager (since she left showbiz over two years ago), but just today, I received three messages from different people all on the same topic,” she said.
“So I'd like to address this once and for all -- the answer is NO, she is not a nun,” she added.
“She is an ecological lay worker who collaborates with many religious institutions as part of her advocacy. To be called "Sister" does not necessarily mean being a nun, it is widely used in church-based community work as a sign of confraternity,” she explained.
According to Ureta, people who want to know what Gutierrez has been up to should check out her Facebook page where volunteers of her environmental foundation update the public about their work.
Ureta also gave the following page for reference: https://www.facebook.com/ilog.uyayi.1122.
The former manager also said that she does not want any further interviews saying “to those who've been asking, sorry but I don't want to be interviewed nor do I want to elaborate.”
“Let's just leave [Chin Chin] to do her advocacy in peace,” she said.
