Bianca King Opens Up Herself To Possible Network TransferNow that GMA star Bianca King only has one more year of contract with the network, is she ready to be a Kapamilya or Kapatid instead?
If given a better opportunity, King said she is open to "branch out" to another network. She said any self-respecting artist would want to spread his/her wings.
“I think, even I, if I were given a good opportunity elsewhere, of course, I’d also like to grow and branch out."
"But I think with every individual, sa kahit anong industry ka, kahit anumang trabaho mo, eventually, gugustuhin mo rin namang i-spread yung wings mo and maka-experience din ng ibang katrabaho, ibang klaseng work... ganoon.”
But King clarified she is still loyal to GMA-7, and is very happy being managed by the Kapuso network and by Icons. She also didn't want to comment about Marian Rivera's decision to leave the management of Icons.
When it comes to the changes in her career, the actress said she is still contented with GMA-7 especially because of her soap opera "Maghihintay Pa Rin."
Her role in the soap opera also helps her get through recent ordeals in her personal life. Her father was hospitalized for one month earlier this year because of a quadruple bypass surgery while her grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
King said she was able to see both of them in January when she visited Canada.
These things, she said, helped her give more to her role as Geneva de Villa in "Maghihintay Pa Rin." Her character in the said soap will be different from all the other roles she played before.
"Yung character ko pa lang mismo na bidang babae, ibang-iba siya sa mga nakasanayan na inaapi, na underdog... ganoon."
The story has a Romeo-and-Juliet theme, King said. She added that it will also tackle the life of OFWs abroad.
King also shared what she would like to do once the limelight dimmed on her. She said she wants to try her hand in directing.
For now, she is a training to be an in-house director of Revolver after Dondon Monteverde offered to help her reach her dreams. The actress is also an apprentice for two commercials directed by Erik Matti.
"After ng soap na ito, babalik ulit ako, magte-train, ipagpapatuloy ko siya. Balak ko talaga, tuluy-tuloy sa Revolver para hopefully by next year, I can start directing commercials pag wala akong soap."
