Charice Admits Having A Crush On Sarah GeronimoIt seems that Charice is finally taking things lightly after her major move recently to come out as a lesbian. The 21-year-old international singer is starting to admit several involvements with some women in her life. After admitting having a special relationship with ‘The X Factor Philippines’ contestant Alyssa Quijano, the singer now admits her admiration for fellow singer-performer Sarah Geronimo.
What made Charice have a crush on Geronimo? In an interview, she proudly said she finds Geronimo pretty. But aside from that, Charice disclosed that her celebrity crush is truly kind and sincere in person. She was also grateful for Geronimo for coming out in her defense a few weeks ago during the height of intrigues hurled against Charice’s new and manly image.
Charice recalled that she first met Geronimo in 2005 when she joined the reality singing contest ‘Little Big Star,’ aired over ABS-CBN. Geronimo was the host of that singing contest. Charice was just 13 years old during that time. She thought that even back then, Geronimo was already a nice girl to her consistent with her typical wholesome image.
‘Little Big Star’
It was in the show that Charice first made name in the local entertainment scene. She did not emerge as the winner in the competition but she has proven that she was the biggest star produced by that contest. She was eliminated right after her first performance but was called back to become a wildcard contender.
After impressing the judges in the wildcard showdown, she was included in the roster of grand finalists. In the final round, she was consistently a top scorer. Unfortunately, she only placed third in the finale. That competition was won by Sam Concepcion, who is still struggling to make a name for himself in the local entertainment industry.
Take on Aiza
In another media interview after her coming out, Charice admitted that she has always been a fan of another singer-performer Aiza Seguerra, who is also openly lesbian. Seguerra also drew controversy when she admitted to the public that she is gay, although her coming out was not through an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda. Through the years, Seguerra managed to be well accepted as a performer despite her sexual orientation.
Charice was happy that Seguerra defended her against her critics before and after she came out. She said she was waiting for her idol to give her opinion about her (Charice) gender issues. At the same time, Charice is also thankful to other celebrities who have expressed support like Lea Salonga, Ryan Seacrest, and BB Gandanghari.
Through her Twitter account, Seguerra said she is happy that Charice is finally free. She gave more encouraging words for the latter. It is an open knowledge these days that Seguerra fell in love with her protégé in the reality singing completion on TV ‘Protégé,’ aired over GMA-7. Charice is also in love with a contestant in the reality singing contest where she was a mentor-judge, ‘The X Factor Philippines.’
