GMA-7 Introduces "Sunday All Stars" As Replacement Of "Party Pilipinas"

GMA-7 promises a new musical variety show for its Sunday noontime slot. Now, it introduced "Sunday All Stars," which will be headed by the same mainstays of now defunct "Party Pilipinas."

According to reports, "Sunday All Stars" will still be led by "Party Pilipinas" hosts Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Jaya and Janno Gibbs. However, there will be a slight change in the show's format.

First, there will be a showdown of four celebrity teams that will be headed by former Kapamilya star Christian Bautista, Jolina Magdangal, Mark Bautista and Jennylyn Mercado.

Aside from the mainstays of "Party Pilipinas," Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe, Carla Abellana, Rachelle Ann Go, Julie Anne San Jose, Elmo Magalona, Alden Richards and Glaiza de Castro will also be joining the cast of "Sunday All Stars."

When "Party Pilipinas" got the ax, reports indicated that the replacement show will still absorb at least 50 percent of that show's cast. It is not yet sure if other stars from the previous show will join "Sunday All Star" in the future.

The new show will be directed by Rommel Gacho. It will start airing on June 16. "Sunday All Stars" is expected to compete with ABS-CBN's "ASAP 18."
