Mmff Revealed Eight Entries For 39th Film Fest In December

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino revealed the list of eight movies who will be included in the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival this year.

There were 15 movie titles submitted to the MMDA, but only eight must be chosen. The MMFF selection committee, which is made up of 11 members, were the ones who held the deliberation and chose the eight screenplays.

A new category (animation) was added this year.

In 2012, the eight movies shown during the film fest earned a total of P747 million.

The entries for the 39th MMFF are: "10,000 Hours" (Robin Padilla, Michael de Mesa, Bela Padilla), "San Pedro Calungso, Batang Martir" (JM de Guzmam, Christian Vasquez), " Boy Girl Bakla Tomboy" (Vice Ganda, Maricel Soriano), "Be Careful With My Heart" (Richard Yap, Jodi Sta. Maria), "Pagpag" (Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo), "Kimmy Dora Prequel" (Piolo Pascual, Eugene Domingo), "My Super Kap" (Bong Revilla, Ogie Alcasid, Toni Gonzaga) and "Torky And My Little Bossing" (Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino).

The remaining seven films will act as backups in case one or more of the eight chosen films won't be able to reach the deadline.

Last year, "Mga Kuwento Ni Lola Basyang" was pulled out from the competition, so Brillante Mendoza's "Thy Womb" was able to join in the film fest.

This year, some of the backup screenplays are "Kulay Abo Ang Langit" (Carla Abellana, Diether Ocampo, Cherie Gil, Matteo Guidicelli), "Everybody Loves" (Jake Cuenca, Jericho Rosales, Megan Young, Maja Salvador), "Kaleidoscope World" (Sef Cadayona, Yassi Pressman), "Sa Ngalang Ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak" (Robin Padilla, Daniel Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez) and "Golden Boy" (Jorge Estregan Jr., KC Concepcion).
